Loble Net Computer Graphics Activity

Computer Graphics and Animation
Mr. Loble
Room L203

Course Description:

This one-semester course is designed for students who are interested in using the computer to develop and design interactive media and animation.  Students will develop creative artistic work using various graphic software packages including Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Fireworks.  In the process of developing these creative works, students will develop an online portfolio which shall showcase the student’s development in graphical programming.

Student Work:

Students will develop a portfolio through the use of a website that will showcase their work throughout the semester.  This web based portfolio will be created by using the knowledge built in this class.  We will use Macromedia Dreamweaver as our web authoring tool.

Homework:

Homework will not be assigned outside of class.  You are responsible for finishing assigned work and having it turned in and uploaded to your website on time.  If you don’t use your time wisely in class you will find yourself needing to spend extra time completing your assignments, which could be from home, and thus becoming homework that you created for yourself….rocket science right?

Class Work:

Much of the learning in this class will be through experimentation and trying knew things with the programs we are using; Flash, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver.  We will be using Dreamweaver as our web authoring program.  We will be using it frequently but it is not the focus of this class.  All websites do not have to be fancy, but they must work or you will not receive a grade. All students are responsible for obtaining a web host account that stays current throughout the semester.  All assignments and instructions will be found at http://loble.net  Students should refer to this site for all instructions on specific assignments as well as tips to getting started, or used in the event of a missed class.

Grading:

Grading will take place based upon the projects given in class.  There will be a rubric for all major projects graded, and the instructor will be monitoring student’s site on a biweekly basis.    These web checks will make up the entire grade for this class.  As the class progresses there will be more content included with your online portfolio.  We will use a free web hosting space to host our portfolios.

90%- 100% = A
80% - 89% = B
70% - 79% = C
